When most of us think about gardening spring comes to mind. This makes sense since spring is the time of new life, growth and returning to our gardens after the long winter months indoors. However, fall is a
fabulous time to transplant and/or install new shrubs trees and
perennials. The cooler temperatures and increased rainfall reduce
transplant shock and foster growth, allowing plants to establish
strong root systems before the ground freezes. Plants also store
nutrients in the fall giving them the reserves they need to pop in
the spring.
